THE A5 MAGAZINE RESORT: GUEST NO.6: TOM REZNIKOV

Updated: Feb 2, 2023

A5:RESORT is a virtual space in which we host artists and designers, inviting you to take a peek into their work. Our next guest is the graphic designer Tom Reznikov.

"This project is in its final stages – therefore I chose to share images from the working process"...

Hello Tom and welcome to our Resort. What did you choose to present?

I chose to present a series of works of mine called “Islands”. This project offers a surreal view from a collection of personal photographs I took over the years.

Who are you and where are you from?

My name is Tom Reznikov. I’m an artist and a graphic designer based in Tel Aviv.

What inspires you?

Nature, landscapes, the city, streets, crowded places, people, motion, buildings, music, creation – and of course – the right amount of time to observe all of this.

Tell us about a significant moment in your career/work/life

It is hard for me to decide. As a graphic designer I find that a lot of the meaningful moments are the people I meet while working. If I have to choose, I think that working on designing a book of poems by Yona Wallach (in collaboration with Jewboy Corp) was a significant moment for me. I found that during the research and work process, the poet really got under my skin, and I had a weird time dreaming about her. I got so absorbed in the project that I got to know her really well. also my visual communication studies was very meaningful, especially during the work on the final project.

Where can we find you?

What is the best place we shouldn’t miss when visiting your town?

The small streets of Kerem Ha’teimanim especially in the morning or walking down Geula street to the beach when the sun sets.

(and if there is enough time – go to “Reznikov House” on Kalisher street. We share the same name so I always walk by and imagine that I own it)

Who would you like us to invite to the A5 Resort?

A very talented artist and friend: Lee schein www.leeschein.com

Well, thanks for being our guest and have a pleasant stay… cheers!
