Hello Shay and welcome to our Resort. What did you choose to present?
I present a group of hand made collages of fantastical landscapes. These landscapes evoke a feeling of déjà-vu and bring to mind places already visited, whether in real life or in the imagination.
Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Shay Zilberman. I live and work in Tel Aviv. I’m an Artist, I do collages.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the printed matter I collect, such as encyclopedias, books and magazines – anything that can be folded into my world. To me, paper is a readily available material that invites intimacy, craftsmanship and manual labor.
Tell us about a significant moment in your career/work/life
My upcoming solo show “Eternal Afternoon Nap” opens Friday, May 30 at Inga Gallery in Tel Aviv.

What is the best place we shouldn’t miss when visiting your town?
You should not miss the remarkable Metzudat Ze’ev (Ze’ev’s Fortress) building and museum (38 King George Street, Tel Aviv). This great example of the Brutalist style is one of the oldest high rises in Tel Aviv, and also depicted in one of my collages. If you climb to the top floor and face west, you might see me working through my studio’s windows.
